There is mention of an Isiah Birt Biss, merchant of Calcutta, in the obituary of his son Mr Samuel Birt Biss, postmaster of Auckland (See Auckland Star 20 Oct 1902, http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=AS19021020.2.36). There might be a probable connection. Isiah Biss Beeby is also mentioned in the Bengal Obituary.
