Thomas Smith was a rum distiller at Gouripore [Gauripur] in the District of Barasat. He left behind his property to Alfred Gouger (one of the executors of his will), his brothers James Smith, indigo planter, and George Smith, indigo planter in Tihoot. They were asked to pay out the trust funds an annual income to his wife, who survived him and his children.
