Detailed information:
William Henry Porter, belonging to the Church of Scotland, married one Jane Higgins, who was a widow, on 19 January 1836. A daughter was born to them (the register of baptisms records the mother’s name as Jane Moore) on 13 October 1838. She was christened Rosaline Matilda. Rosaline Matilda passed away at the age 14, on 6 July 1852 and was buried at the Scotch Burial Ground. A second daughter, Jane Maria, was born to them in 1840, but she too died young at the age of 4.
